🚀 Role Summary

The Visual Database Modeler II is responsible for managing, maintaining, and updating the existing visual database used in the Rotary Aircrew Training Systems (RATS) Air Crew Training Devices (ATDs). This role involves developing new or modifying existing visual databases to correct inherent scene and systems discrepancies, enhance performance, improve fidelity and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least three years of experience in developing flight simulation visual databases for commercial or military pilot training applications.

💻 Primary Responsibilities

🌐 Database Management & Development

  • Develops new or modifies existing visual databases to correct inherent scene and systems discrepancies, enhance performance, improve fidelity and reliability.
  • Maintains configuration control, archival back-ups, and controls system baselines.
  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, and validates visual database related modifications.
  • Develops acceptance test procedures to ensure accurate simulation is maintained and functions integrate with all associated systems.
  • Prepares distribution kits and instructions for site incorporation of system changes/upgrades and provides assistance, as required.
  • Develops and maintains full documentation for visual database system changes/upgrades in accordance with FlightSafety documentation and configuration management procedures.
  • Supports installation and acceptance testing of system modifications by others.
  • Generates new 3D models and related enhancements, incorporates imagery and textures into associated visual scenes, and makes updates to existing scenes, as required.
  • Updates, develops, and maintains documentation to support configuration management of the database, as required.
  • Provides expertise, advice, and assistance to all RATS work centers.
  • Attends and participates in Visual Database Requirements Meetings with users and management as required.
  • Travels and works at remote sites as required.
