💻 Primary Responsibilities

  • Systems Analysis/Design (Environment/Platform):

    • Design complex solutions that meet client needs and conform to institutional policies, standards, and vendor best practices.
    • Select infrastructure applications and research new technologies to improve service processes and functionality.
    • Develop new methods to improve service processes and performance, and implement new technologies based on their value to the institution.
  • Install & Configure:

    • Install and configure complex server hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure applications following technical documentation and best practices.
    • Implement a schedule of system backups and archive operations to ensure data/media recoverability.
  • Maintain & Troubleshoot:

    • Provide complex server-level administration, including maintenance, upgrades, patches, account management, backups, and recoveries.
    • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels and generate periodic reports to assess system performance, integrity, and capacity.
    • Follow and maintain IT security awareness and best practices to deliver secure solutions to customers.
    • Utilize system management and monitoring tools and incident tracking systems to detect incidents, take corrective actions, and determine root cause.
  • Project Collaboration & Lifecycle Participation:

    • Implement changes while adhering to change management policies and procedures, and communicate the nature, significance, and risk factors to all parties involved.
    • Develop RFPs from requirements gathered, evaluate vendor proposals, and assist vendors and consultants in developing applications.
    • Author and maintain documentation, develop test scenarios, and test all changes to ensure delivered solutions work as expected and errors are handled in a meaningful way.
