🚀 Role Summary
National Power, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Generator Field Technician to lead and mentor a team of service technicians in performing maintenance, repairs, and startup services on industrial generators and related equipment. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to customer-focused service.
💻 Primary Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise and direct the work of assigned service technicians within a geographic territory
- Evaluate performance, provide coaching and feedback, and develop training programs to improve technical knowledge and overall performance
- Identify and assign team members to provide field support and mentorship to other service technicians
- Partner with the Service Director to resolve employee performance or behavioral issues and determine staffing needs
- Participate in recruiting and hiring of field service technicians

Customer Support & Troubleshooting:
- Serve as the first point of contact for phone and field support, including troubleshooting, emergency repair assistance, and parts delivery
- Conduct preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, startup, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of generators and related equipment
- Make pre-startup site visits to advise and assist installing contractors

Safety & Quality Control:
- Lead safety initiatives and oversight for all technicians in assigned geography, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Execute Quality Control programs within assigned geographic territory, working with the Technical Service Manager to implement QC procedures and ensure proper documentation

Project Planning & Support:
- Support Service Manager in reviewing work orders at all stages of project execution
- Drive and promote continuous improvement of field operations
- Provide customer-focused support to enhance customer relationships and resolve concerns
- Support planning and quoting of complex service projects
- Assist Service Director with Generac warranty process administration
🎓 Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Experience & Certifications:
- Generac Master Technician or equivalent certification and training is required
- High level of expertise with switchgear
Skills:
- Positive attitude and strong customer service skills required
- Ability to manage a team of technicians
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 75lbs
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and near moving mechanical parts
💵 Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year (based on experience and certifications)
