💻 Primary Responsibilities

  • Network Design & Implementation:

    • Understand and analyze organizational requirements for performance, scalability, availability, and security.
    • Design, configure, and optimize on-premise and cloud networks (Azure, AWS, SaaS) to meet organizational goals.
  • Network Management & Maintenance:

    • Manage and maintain firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points, IP addressing, certificates, protocols, VPN, and other networking devices/equipment/resources.
    • Provide troubleshooting and support to resolve complex network issues and keep business operations running smoothly.
  • Network Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Monitor network performance using network monitoring and inspection tools (i.e., SNMP, packet analyzers, etc.).
    • Provide regular reporting and clear explanation of network utilization.
  • Security & Compliance:

    • Collaborate with the security team to ensure networks meet cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
    • Implement and maintain security best practices.
  • Collaboration & Mentoring:

    • Collaborate, mentor, and work with team members where cross-team needs exist.
    • Complete proper documentation for design, configurations, ticketing, and work updates.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify, contribute, and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
    • Travel to Re:Build sites as needed.

🎓 Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology (or related field)

Experience: Over 7 years of hands-on networking experience in a distributed enterprise environment (across the country and in the cloud)

Required Skills:

  • Strong experience with the Fortinet platform, equipment, and solutions.
  • Strong experience managing, maintaining, and supporting distributed networks across diverse locations and technologies.
  • Strong experience using core network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, etc.) and VPN.
  • Strong experience with all types of networking equipment (cabling, wireless, switches, routers, racking, mounting, etc.).
  • Solid experience networking in IT and OT (manufacturing) environments.
  • Solid experience in SD-WAN.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstration of security best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them beneficially.
  • General knowledge of end-user endpoints/services, servers, virtualization, server services (like AD, file/print), and cloud services.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (nice to have).

Preferred Skills:

  • Current IT industry certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network+.
  • Fortinet NSE certification.
