💻 Primary Responsibilities

  • Gas Operations: Perform gas turn-ons, turn-offs, transfers, meter installations, and maintenance, as well as flow and lock, measure, and build operations.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers professionally and courteously, addressing inquiries, explaining procedures, and providing guidance on gas usage and safety.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls during normal working hours and after hours as needed.
  • Issue Identification & Resolution: Identify and address issues with gas lines, appliances, and equipment.
  • Communication & Liaison: Serve as a liaison between Centric, construction managers, and city officials/representatives/customers.
  • Truck Maintenance: Safely drive and maintain the company service truck, including stocking, inspecting, and cleaning the truck cab, bed, and bins.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure proper flow, pressure, and operation of the regulator, conduct inspections and pressure tests, and stay up-to-date with safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • GIS System Usage: Use the GIS system to ensure proper installation of gas service lines and/or mains.

🎓 Skills & Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 1+ years of experience in the utilities industry, preferably natural gas

Required Skills:

  • Ability to obtain Operator Qualification (OQ) Certifications within three months of hire

  • Normal hours of operation: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with availability to work overtime as required
