NorthEast Electrical, part of the global Sonepar group, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Control Panel Technician to join their Industrial Engineering team in Taunton, MA. The successful candidate will perform control panel fabrication, build, assembly, and manufacturing work, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

💻 Primary Responsibilities

  • Control Panel Fabrication & Assembly: Read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical control wiring schematics. Mechanically machine, drill, and tap control panels, modify enclosures, and mount electrical devices with high efficiency and quality.
  • Electrical Wiring: Wire control panels efficiently and with high quality, following provided electrical schematic drawings.
  • Compliance & Safety: Work in accordance with NorthEast Electrical's applicable employment policies, health, safety, and environmental regulations, along with UL standards and ISO9001:2015 policies and procedures.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform any additional assigned tasks such as mechanical assembly, warehouse duties, clean up, etc.

🎓 Skills & Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • Electrical Trade School, Electrician, Mechanical Assembly, or Electrical Industry Experience preferred

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Proficiency in using fabrication tools such as powered drills, powered saws, crimpers, cutting tools, etc.
  • Ability to identify hardware components such as PLCs, VFD, circuit breakers, etc., and understand their roles in the control panel build
  • Ability to read and identify wire size gauges and colors, along with ampacity ratings, etc.
  • Ability to apply high level of quality craftsmanship and always look for ways to improve

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a related field such as electrical trade school, electrician, mechanical assembly, or the electrical industry
